SUMMARY:Rootead in Youth - Winter Session
DESCRIPTION:Rootead in Youth (RIY) is a holistic cultural arts program for children ages 2 – 8 years old that features communal affirmations\, West African dance\, Djembe drumming\, call and response songs from the African diaspora\, an obstacle course highlighting fundamental movement skills\, and nervous system regulation techniques. \n  \nRIY Winter Session 2025 will be Saturdays: January 18\, January 25\, February 1\, February 8\, February 15 \nThe schedule for each RIY Saturday is: \n\n10:00am – 10:45am: 2 – 3 year olds\n10:45am – 11:30am: 4 – 5 year olds\n11:30am – 12:15pm: 6 – 8 year olds\n\n  \nThe cost for this program is $65. Scholarships are available and can be applied for directly in the registration form. REGISTER HERE \nRegistration closes on January 11th\, 2025.

This year’s showcase\, titled “Embodying the Elements”\, highlights the talents of Rootead’s youth as they bring the elements—Earth\, Fire\, Water\, and Air—to life through the dynamic traditions of African diaspora dance and drum. \nThis event is more than a performance; it marks a milestone celebration of Rootead’s 10th anniversary of service to the community. Over the past decade\, Rootead has been committed to uplifting youth\, families\, and the community through birth justice\, youth enrichment and healing arts. \nThe Youth Showcase serves as a vital fundraiser for our Youth Enrichment branch\, with all proceeds directly supporting programming\, essential services\, and the long-term sustainability of these transformative opportunities for inner-city youth. Your support helps ensure that Rootead continues to provide the resources\, mentorship\, and creative outlets that allow young people to thrive. \nJoin us for this celebration of artistry\, culture\, and community\, and help us continue empowering the next generation! \n\n\n\nWinter Showcase Details\n\n\n\n\nWhen: Sunday\, February 9th\, 2025. Doors open @ 2:30PM\, performance is at 3PM. Group tickets (5) for $100.
