Rootead offers drumming and dancing that is open to everyone! As an essential part of Rootead, creating a sense of community and provides the space for expression. It is an uplifting event that opens your heart and allows you to move your body in an exciting way. As knowledge and love of this art form is shared, Rootead often recruits master teachers to continue to give to the Kalamazoo community.
We're working to reduce African American infant mortality in Kalamazoo County and improve the overall birth experience.
Justice begins at birth, we are working tirelessly to reduce the African American infant mortality in our county. We will achieve this goal through birthwork, we provide service from women who are trained to assist prenatal during childbirth and who may provide support to the family after the baby is born.
Rootead offers doula services for birth and postpartum.
To set up a consultation with a Doula, please complete our Doula Inquiry form here. Our walk-in hours are Monday from 9:00 am - noon.
To work with a Rootead Doula, you make an initial request either online or in-person and our doula will contact you. You are welcome to talk to all of our doulas until you find the one that fits best; At which point, a simple contract will be signed and a payment/scholarship plan will be agreed to.
