We are thrilled to present our third annual Youth Showcase, an inspiring event that celebrates the creativity, passion, and dedication of our young performers. This year’s showcase, titled “Embodying the Elements”, highlights the talents of Rootead’s youth as they bring the elements—Earth, Fire, Water, and Air—to life through the dynamic traditions of African diaspora dance and drum.
This event is more than a performance; it marks a milestone celebration of Rootead’s 10th anniversary of service to the community. Over the past decade, Rootead has been committed to uplifting youth, families, and the community through birth justice, youth enrichment and healing arts.
The Youth Showcase serves as a vital fundraiser for our Youth Enrichment branch, with all proceeds directly supporting programming, essential services, and the long-term sustainability of these transformative opportunities for inner-city youth. Your support helps ensure that Rootead continues to provide the resources, mentorship, and creative outlets that allow young people to thrive.

Winter Showcase Details
When: Sunday, February 9th, 2025. Doors open @ 2:30PM, performance is at 3PM. Following the performance, a silent auction and dinner will take place.
Where: Comstock Community Auditorium, 2107 N 26th Street, Kalamazoo, MI, 49048
Tickets: $25/single ticket. Group tickets (5) for $100. Children 2 and under are free, no ticket purchase necessary.
