Pelvic Floor Foundations for Birth Workers
Saturday, February 28th from 11 AM- 3 PM
Join us for an engaging, hands-on workshop designed to deepen your understanding of the pelvic floor and its vital role throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum journey. This session will empower doulas to provide informed, body-aware, and trauma-sensitive support to the families they serve.
Together, we’ll explore:
- Pelvic floor anatomy and function – understanding structure, strength, and mobility
- Pregnancy and birth support techniques – practical tools for comfort and balance
- Postpartum recovery and healing – supporting restoration after birth
- Exercises and breathing practices – simple, effective ways to promote connection and release
- Pelvic pain awareness and referral sources – recognizing when to refer and how to advocate
- Supporting survivors of sexual assault – holding trauma-informed, compassionate space
- Scope of practice – maintaining professionalism and boundaries as a doula
This training blends evidence-based knowledge with embodied learning, offering both information and experiential practice.
