Know Your Birthing Rights!

Every birthing person deserves to feel informed, respected and heard throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care. The Know Your Birthing Rights Workshop is an interactive, community-centered session designed to help families understand their rights and advocate for themselves within the healthcare system. Participants will explore their relationship with autonomy and self-advocacy, deepen their understanding of birth rights and how that relates to hospital policy and procedure, and dive into what informed decisionmaking looks and feels like. We’ll explore practical ways to communicate with healthcare providers and identify resources for additional support. Whether you are planning your first birth or have given birth before, this workshop supports families and birthing people who desire to be actively engaged in their own care.
