Rootead Enrichment Center will host our annual Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday June 20, 2026 from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Bronson Park. This free, family friendly event is designed to bring the city together for a day of celebration, collaboration, and joy. 

This year, we’ll will focus on sharing the history of the holiday, and offering a space for reflection, celebration, and connection. 

“While Juneteenth is now nationally recognized, we want to highlight that it’s more than just a celebration, it’s about collective support, deep history, and showing up for one another in meaningful ways,” said Adia Brown, Marketing Lead.

The stage will feature high energy performances from local groups such as our own Rootead Youth Drum & Dance Ensemble (RYDDE), as well as Unique Unity Dance Team and Jules Dance Team. The event will be DJed by DJ Kee and will include musical performances from Asia Sings, Slym Beno, Daja Excel and several others. 

Attendees can explore over 70 community vendors and food trucks, including local favorites such as J’havey’s BBQ, Season To The Bone Jamaican Cuisine, and Monarca’s Ice Cream. Several local organizations and event sponsors will exhibit at the event, offering information and resources as well. The event will also feature youth activities such as face painting, games, and a bounce house. 

“Juneteenth is rooted in history, resilience, and liberation, and we want people to walk away with a deeper understanding of that significance,” said Brown. “At the same time, we hope they feel the power of community, supporting local businesses, engaging with organizations, and recognizing that collective care and celebration can exist in the same space.”
